Technology was change and remodeled over the years of 1865-1900. Such as the use of the railroad, it went from transporting soldiers of the civil war to carrying cattle for the meat industry. The railroad ran from the west to north , but with the civil war a lot of the lines was destroyed in war acts. In the North the first light bulb was invented , this transform the way of work at night; which meant they work longer hours and gave them a night shift as we call it. You had the telegraph that was place around in these years which granted them the to talk over a phone system giving them a faster pace for work.

Class Division was simple you had your rich and your poor, there was no middle class at the time because you had so many immigrants coming in; the rich was the man who made investment or inventions that thrive in these new aging America, they toiled on the backs of the poor. Paying them little to nothing for jobs that was fast paced and dangerous. So the rich got wealthy and the poor got skilled that help raise their families.

The charcteristics and experiences of the immigrans had alikes and differences. Many of these immigrants saw america as the land of opportunity. There were immigrants of 2 groups: The last waves of "Old Immigration" from Germany, Britain,Ireland and Scandinavia, and the " New Immigration" Some moved back and fourth across the Atlantic, but most were permanent settlers. The New immigration were much npooere peasants and rural folk from southern and eastern europe, including many italians, Poles and Jews. Some groups, especially the italians and greeks , saw themselves as temporary migrants who planned to return to their home villages with a nest egg of cash earned in long hours of unskilled labor.
Others especially the Jews, had been driven out of Eastern Europe and had no intention of returning. The push factors of these immigrants included dislocation, shortages of land, and antisemitism. Pull factors were the economic opportunity of good inexpensive farmlands or job in factories, mills and mines. The first generation typically lived in ethnic enclaves with a common language, food, religion, and connections through the old villiage. The sheer number caused over crowdings in tenants in larger cities in the smaill mill towns, however, management usually built company housing with cheap rents. In conclusion the immigrants from old to new were similar in ways of coming to America to look for jobs and things. They were different in ways of where they came from.

  3. There were many factors that had a part in constructing cities throughout the entire USA. Class division and technology are two factor that I am going to go into details about. Class division was all about who was rich and who was poor in the apartments, the poor live in the lower level apartments while the rich live on the top of the building. The rich was mostly the inventors, the educated whites, and entrepreneurs. The middle and poor class was mostly the skilled/unskilled workers and immigrants. Immigrants can from all around the world just to find new opportunities and jobs. The places that they live in was very unsanitary and extremely small especially for small families. The middle class/poor class worked for hours and hours for little pay, 5 cent an hours, so that was extremely low pay. That was how much a room in a building was.
Technology in 1865-1900 was coming forth in many different ways, for example the railroad refrigerated car used in keeping the meat stored at a specific temperature. There were many inventors who came up with many ideas that the people back in the day used, one of those inventions was the Bessemer process made by Henry Bessemer. He used this process to make steel at a faster rate by increasing the temperature and by melting pig iron and coal. When the light bulb came out it make working in the dark effective, because workers could work overtime while the manager is at home. Henry ford brought to this world the conveyer belt, by using this belt worker had a specific job they had to perform in order to make the cars they were selling. The telegram make communicating across the nation possible. Later as time progress the telegram became the gram bell-bell south- ATT Company.

Technology was a huge transformation in the 1860s through 1900s. Many things made were used for techniques for wars and modern day life. The light bulb was made which have light during night when it was most needed. That was used for work force, so the workers could work longer hours at night and used for street lights so you can see during the night or inside of your home. You have the telephone, voice recorder, etc which were all made for communication. Those could be sent in just the moments of seconds to communicate messages to people either in different locations or a location that couldn't be sent in just seconds. There was the invention of the automobile and other transportation transport that was made during that time and it was made for quicker transportation to get from one destination to another.

Class division was divided into many categories. Back in the 1860s to the 1900s there was only the categorization of rich and poor. The rich was those mostly found as managers, supervisors, etc to the poor who was the working class of those of the rich. The poor had more work hours and less pay than the rich which is going on as of today but was really more difficult. The rich had so much money that they became wealthy people and can take care of their families for generations and carry that on forever and more. The poor saved money and helped provide for their family. The pay the poor got wasn't enough to keep them wealthy as of the rich or the wealthy.

  5. 2. Analyze how TWO of the following factors contributed to the development of American cities between 1865-1900
    A) Technology
    B)Urban Politics
    C) Class Divisions

technology favored bigger farms. Much of the technology was either expensive and/or needed large spaces to work effectively . Because of this, the new technology made large farms more competitive than small farms. That started the process that brought us to the situation we have now where most farming is done by large agricultural firms rather than by families.
The Class Divisions is another factor. Basically, there was three classes: Upper class, Middle class and Lower class. Lower class was treated like animals. Middle class worked and wasn't paid equally. Upper class really didn't have to work they basically spoon feed. And if you couldn't read or write you we're cheated out of your working money which was mostly blacks.

  6. Analyze how TWO of the following factors contributed to the development of American cities between 1865-1900
    A) Technology
    B)Urban Politics
    C) Class Divisions

During this time class divisions was were you had your poor and rich. There were no middle class during this time because of the large amount of immigrants. The poor was the worker who got paid very little didn't they really didn't have much. The rich was the bosses and some was inventors. The rich was wealthy and had life good. The poor had to work longer hours just to have anything, to provide for their family, and provide for their household. It was hard for the poor.

Technology made a big change during 1865-1900. Such as the railroads which not only transported goods and material soldiers as well. The light bulb was invented during this time too. The light bulb was used at night which made workers work longer hours. Also, Henry Bessemer invented the Bessemer process made. Analyze how TWO of the following factors contributed to the development of American cities between 1865-1900?
    A) Technology
    B) Urban Politics
    C) Class Divisions
Class Divisions contributed to the development of American Cities between 1865 -1900, due to there being companies with the rich being to give to poor a job. Which serve to the citizens by them having a job. This gave the rich more wealth and gave the middle and lower class a job. Also, class division gave the economy more time for big project which were made, by citizens on who were paid. So, simply it made it easier to make money.
Next, technology contributed to the development of American Cities between 1865 -1900, due to their tactical resources. Engineering was coming more urban. They create large sky scraper building on which gave people ways to live. Also, it adapted products from other countries such as china. It also gave more transitions or trade with other countries.
